  • Abstract
A lot of studies for acceptance of new technology have been conducted in context of work settings, but some technologies can be used for amusement also. Is enjoyment a necessary or garniture? The authors develop scenarios about the relative importance of enjoyment to the adoption of new technology. Empirical analysis of a survey of 570 consumers shows that while both practical and enjoyable function are important, user perceived enjoyment will affect his acceptance of new technology. In particular, contents quality will influence user perceived enjoyment, then performance expectancy and behavioral intention. These findings imply that user´ s enjoyment needs should be considered in the development of a new technology.
