Abstract
From lasing properties of membrane BH-DFB lasers with various stripe-widths, the stripe-width dependence of an index-coupling coefficient was evaluated. From experimental measurements, the lowest threshold pump power was estimated to be obtained with the stripe width of 1.2 µm.
