Summary form only given.Recently, we have demonstrated high-speed WDM operation using monolithic quasi-planar VCSEL and resonant photodetector arrays. In this paper, we analyze the system performance issues for a two-channel WDM fiber-optic link with a 4 nm wavelength spacing and a 1 km link span (single-mode fiber), and operating at a data rate of better than 1 Gbit/s per channel.
