Abstract :
This paper analyzes enterprise R&D staff´s performance management. It contends that the critical successful factors (CSFs) of enterprise R&D activities is the starting point for R&D staff´s appraisal indicators design; the appraisal indicators design should only consider outcome and behavior dimensions, ability dimension is not suitable for general performance appraisal; results of outcome appraisal should relate to compensation directly, to make this more effective, a profit-share system should be adopted for R&D staff; results of behavior and outcomes appraisal together can be used to decide R&D staff´ s promotion.
