  • Abstract
Summary form only given. MATLAB is a user-friendly software package capable of carrying out complex signal analysis and signal processing functions. Self-contained graphics makes it possible to rapidly evaluate the results of calculations, and, because of the speed of operation, it is easy to use it in an interactive manner to see the effects of changing signal or system parameters. When it is used as a teaching tool, the students are given a short orientation that includes a number of worked examples. They are then assigned a series of problems to carry out on their own. Some of the problems are of the open-ended type to challenge the students´ ingenuity
