Abstract
Bandpass filters, with a center frequency of 60 GHz, have been designed using a standard CMOS process. Both distributed and lumped filters are investigated, with the aim of achieving good out-of-band rejection and reasonable insertion loss. Measurements of the filters are compared with electromagnetic (EM) simulations, proving the applicability of EM simulations to reliably design distributed passive components at these frequencies. The design of miniaturized lumped element filters is possible, but more challenging than larger distributed filters.
