Abstract
Automatic identification system (AIS) plays an important role in maritime traffic. AIS is a system that enables ships to exchange information about ships and voyage, such as position, speed, course, and name automatically by VHF radio. This paper proposes a solution of vessel real-time monitoring and historic track query based on AIS temporal database. Its basic function is to integrate static and dynamic data of each vessel and share these data with different clients. It can support numerous users´ update information continuously. The method of massive historic track query is also discussed. Processing and analyzing of historic data by AIS temporal database can provides decision-making support for maritime departments. The system is expected to contribute the improvement of marine traffic management and safety.
