Abstract :
Developing velocity of lightning leader is not considered in general case when the electromagnetic field around is calculated. But in the last step of the main lightning discharge stage, the speed of discharge is close to light velocity, so leader speed can not be ignored. In this article, electromagnetic field distribution around leader can be obtained by using Lorentz transformation. The result shows that field strength decreases with the increasing of the developing velocity of lightning leader, and field strength near the leader decreases faster than the further space. With the increasing of leader velocity, the scope of lightning may expand, which may provide a theoretical basis for the analysis of lighting selectivity.
