Construction of lexicographic vocabulary with nouns, adjectives, and verbs for querying the Semantic Web

In this paper, we propose an extended mechanism to introduce verbs into a lexicographic vocabulary to query the Semantic Web. We have already proposed two mechanisms: one for building a lexicographic vocabulary consisting of nouns and adjectives, and the other for evaluating queries using such a vocabulary on the Semantic Web. In this paper, the mechanisms are extended to define basic verbs, to define derived verbs as labels given to expressions that combine predefined verbs, and to evaluate queries using verbs. The lexicographic definitions of derived words can be reused for the different data sets in the Semantic Web by mapping the basic words to appropriate elements in each of the data sets. Our proposal enables users to define an extendible and reusable vocabulary that consists of nouns, adjectives, and verbs and to issue simple queries that contain sentence structures with verbs of this vocabulary.
