Abstract :
A method of estimating and removing the distortion associated with camera lenses used in digital image acquisition is presented. The proposed approach is based on the fact that the projection of a straight line is also a straight line: lines are detected and then warped to optimally fit the line support data to idealized line models. The technique requires little supervision and works on any arbitrary image, thus greatly simplifying the task of calibration
