Abstract :
The advances in low bit rate video coding technology have led to the possibility of delivering video services to users through band-limited wireless networks. The paper proposes a hybrid ARQ error control scheme based on the concatenation of a Reed-Solomon (RS) code and a rate-compatible punctured convolutional (RCPC) code. The performance of the proposed hybrid ARQ scheme is simulated and compared with that of conventional hybrid ARQ schemes for real-time H.263 video transmission over wireless networks
