  • Abstract
Summary form only given. Multibeam fusion laser systems typically require stringent control over and measurement of the pulse shapes and energies in each of the beams. To achieve this kind of control three ten-channel streak cameras have been built and installed on OMEGA, and three more will be installed in the near future. These streak cameras allow the pulse shapes to be monitored in all 60 beams. Locating the streak cameras behind the target bay shield wall has minimized neutron-induced noise and increased the dynamic range of the measurements. A unique high-bandwidth, UV, multimode gradient-index fiber delivery system has been developed for this application.
