Abstract :
Contaminant, such as heavy metals, organic pollutant, are released into the environment by mining, industry, agriculture to be severely harmful to people´s health. Phytoremediation is a low-cost and environmentally-friendly technology to clean up polluted sites. This article makes systematic introduction of phytoremediation, from theory to application, particularly recent research achievement of poplar, and discusses the development tendency. It can be used a reference for understanding phytoremediation development.
