Abstract :
This paper introduces passive radar concept for airborne applications and explains the possible interactions with space. Passive radar is a challenging and popular topic in remote sensing. Passive radar concept has two main categories: Passive Emitter Tracking (PET) and Passive Coherent Locator (PCL). A new research area for passive radar concept is the application of this theory to airborne platforms. It seems possible but there are some extra challenges when compared to ground-based systems. This paper will discuss about airborne applications and possible space based illuminators.
