Abstract :
This paper studies concurrent phenomenon of beta products and their diffusion in the co-creation communities. Freely distributed beta products are in many cases essential building blocks of digital business ecosystems. Specifically, the research presents results of adoption of three different beta software products in a co-creation community. The results reveal some surprising differences to traditional product adoption dynamics. These differences create important requirements for managing innovations in practical environments.
