  • Abstract
Recent bench-level tests for evaluating the electromagnetic-interference (EMI) signal susceptibility characteristics of electrical/electronic components, are reported. In-vehicle-generated EMI transients, captured at sources and receivers in a vehicle that had no known EMI problems, were analyzed. Frequency-domain spectra were compared with the spectra of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) waveforms. Results show that by comparing the spectra of measured transients with those from the standards, realistic waveform amplitudes can be set to reflect transient levels prevalent in a late-model automobile.<>
