  • Abstract
Summary form only given. In the 1990s, the electroabsorption modulator (EAM) has found a wide range of applications. Functionalities such as pulse generation and demultiplexing by electrical modulation have been demonstrated using an EAM. Recently, all-optical wavelength conversion, demultiplexing, and signal regeneration, have also been experimentally demonstrated. In this paper, we investigate all-optical demultiplexing from 80 to 10 Gbit/s.
