Abstract :
In this paper we discuss the use of Checkland´s Soft Systems Methodology as a means of uncovering normative structures within organisational settings in order that the methodology can be utilized as an effective knowledge engineering tool to develop expert systems which can ultimately structure, represent and visualise normative positions within organisations.
