Abstract :
A long-period waveguide grating based on a low-loss negative tone epoxy Novolak resin (ENR) polymer has been fabricated on SiO2/Si substrate. A transmission peak of -13 dB at ∼1.5 μm wavelength was observed for a grating length of 1.7 cm. Thus, LPWG exhibits a relatively small size and similar performance to the long-period fibre grating (LPFG), and provides integration with various optical components and functional devices on the same SiO2/Si substrate.
