Abstract :
Summary form only given. Tunable, coherent THz-wave sources have attracted much attention for the development of THz-wave applications. A THz parametric oscillator (TPO) has several useful features such as small size, high conversion efficiency, wide tunability, and high coherency. THz-wave radiation is generated by utilizing the polariton mode scattering of a LiNbO/sub 3/:MgO nonlinear optical crystal that satisfies the noncollinear phase matching condition.
