Abstract
We have presented a synthesis method for the simultaneous control of antenna far-field pattern and near-field nulls. Although this is a more complicated problem than conventional far-field pattern synthesis, since it involves two rather than one variable only, the solution is readily interpreted in terms of the original pattern and cancellation beams focused on the null locations. When these foci are moved out toward infinity the cancellation beams take the form of sinc-beams and the method transforms into an earlier far-field method.<>
