Abstract :
We propose a coupled-wave model for square-lattice 2D photonic crystal distributed-feedback laser with transverse electric mode. It is shown that 2D optical coupling occurs among four lightwaves propagating in Γ-X direction through the higher-order waves propagating in Γ-M direction.
