Abstract
As the hydropower exploitation of Yangtze basin in China is booming, thousands of workers work and live in the construction encampment, which results in more and more serious MSW pollution. In order to control environment pollution and protect the health of workers as well as local people, integrated waste management is established in the work zone on the basis of investigation of waste characteristics and management status of the HPS1 hydropower station in JinSha River, HPS2 and HPS3 hydropower station in Ya Nong River and HPS4 hydropower station in Da Du River, which is of good applicability and operation. The management system is about source reduction, process resource and end hazard free of MSW. Besides, the treatment and disposal decision making model of MSW in the work zone is established by Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). This system can guide the MSW management in the work zone of big hydropower station and provide reference for MSW control in other large projects.
