Abstract :
A directional coupler filter composed of two ARROW waveguides is proposed. The TE/sub 0/ of one guide and the TE/sub 1/ of the other are brought to a matching condition for a given wavelength using acoustically induced gratings. The wavelength-dependent loss discrimination of the TE/sub 1/ is employed as an additional element for bandwidth reduction and side lobe suppression.<>
