  • Abstract
Summary form only given. We have incorporated two saturable-Bragg-reflectors (SBRs) into a dual-cavity mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser for the first time to our knowledge creating a stable, self-starting, independently tunable, two-color femtosecond source. The SBR mode-locking has allowed us to investigate the pulse-to-pulse coupling of the two laser cavities via the nonlinear interaction in the laser crystal. This laser source has immediate applications in nondegenerate pump-probe spectroscopy.
