Abstract :
The optical properties of Zn1-xCdxTe single crystals were investigated in order to make ultrafast E-O modulator for tera bps optical communication. Experimental results indicate that the Zn0.95Cd0.05Te crystal has the highest efficiency for an E-O sensor or emitter of T-rays, and even for an ultrafast E-O modulator.
