Abstract
This paper describes the implementation of concentric rings of phasing posts on an 85 element crossed-dipole phased array at S-band, for the purpose of minimizing the cardinal-plane axial ratio over a 60/spl deg/ scan volume and a 7% frequency bandwidth. An experimental process was used to optimize the geometric placement and height above ground plane for the posts. The impact of the posts on the active element impedance has also been investigated.<>
