Abstract
The paper presents a method to synthesize a two-way pattern. The synthesis is carried out by using an analytical gradient method which leads to large computer time saving compared to the numerical gradient method (40 times). The two-way pattern synthesis gives patterns with similar quality to classical amplitude-phase synthesis with the great advantage of uniform transmitted power. It allows one to shape nulls in the side lobes, deeper in the receive mode than for the transmit mode.<>
