Abstract :
The demands for emergency communication services have grown very fast in the past few years. The history and characteristics of emergency communication techniques are reviewed. By concentrating on public security applications, several emergency communication systems have been successfully developed based upon the concept and architecture of the intelligent network. The implementation and functions of the system are described. We believe that more advanced systems will appear to meet the unprecedented growing demands of emergency communication services in China
