Abstract :
Summary form only given. There is a growing interest in the on-line monitoring of fluorescent compounds in the aquatic environment, such as polycyclic aromatic compounds, oil products or tracer substances. A system for this purpose should be small in size, power-independent and easy to handle. We developed a device that uses time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy to meet these requirements. The system consists of a compact all-solid-state laser, a fiber-optic sensor and an optical multichannel analyzer (OMA).
