Abstract :
Viewing three-dimensional display causes visual fatigue which is considered as a primary task to be solved for a wide spreading of the three-dimensional devices and contents. In this paper, we have proposed Low Visual Fatigue Stereoscopic Auto Focus to reduce the visual fatigue of viewing a three-dimensional display in stereo camera. The suggested algorithm analyzes the input scene and finds the best focus point that lowers the visual fatigue. In the analysis process, the algorithm extracts the number of major objects and their portion using disparity map from a stereo image pair. Then, summing the portions of objects after weighting them by Comfort Zone modeling Function according to their center depth value, the expected relative visual fatigue is calculated. In the displaying step, using the calculated possible relative visual fatigue prediction, the algorithm gives comfortable stereoscopic auto focus. The experiment results point out the sufficient improvement in lowering the visual fatigue than existing algorithms.
