Abstract :
A simple radio coverage prediction method is introduced for in-building simulcast antenna microsystems. Coverage planning is evaluated using a system parameter called the coverage path loss (CPL), defined as the received signal attenuation over the coverage area. The radio propagation characteristics are modeled with a composite log-normal-Nakagami distribution. The CPL prediction results are verified with site-measurement data and show reasonable agreement. The CPL is useful for cell coverage planning of in-building simulcast antenna microsystems, e.g., determining the radio coverage area, number of antennas, and antenna placements
