Abstract :
The antenna arrays with non-uniform inter-element spacing are known for better angular resolution, narrow beam width, and low sidelobe level. In this paper, the modified improved LMS algorithm is employed to suppress the multiple probing sources by non-uniform phased array in the presence of multiple desired radar sources. The steering vector and the signal covariance matrix are modified according to the interelement spacing considered. This facilitates the estimation of optimum weights for the generation of adapted pattern. The simulation results show the efficacy of the algorithm in the active cancellation of multiple narrowband and wideband probing sources for non-uniform linear/planar phased arrays.
