Abstract
Summary form only given. In contrast to the scanning THz imaging system, the speed of which is limited by the mechanical scanning, the CCD-based THz imaging system promises real-time two-dimensional (2D) imaging capability. However, because the lock-in amplifier that suppresses the noise greatly can not be used with the CCD imager, the CCD-based THz imaging system suffers from low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). We adopt the principle of the lock-in detection in a CCD THz imaging system, the SNR is greatly improved. As an example, the 2D distribution of the relatively weak THz pulses generated by an optical rectification emitter is measured.
