Abstract :
In this work, the performance of cable termination used in the context of increased use of power electronics is studied. The experimental work analyses the cable termination degradation process when exposed to steep front non-sinusoidal voltage waveforms. The Partial Discharge (PD) measurements are carried out before and after the accelerated aging experiment to study the insulation degradation under high frequency medium voltage stress. Results obtained from the surface temperature measurements using infra red camera are also used in the analyses.
