Abstract :
We demonstrate that the mixing of a Zakharov-Manakov soliton with a quasi-continuous wave signal may lead to the generation of a soliton with variable speed (trappon). Trappons may provide a novel mechanism of cavity-less ultrashort tunable pulse train generation.
