  • Abstract
This paper presents a novel structure for two phase switch reluctance motor. The proposed novel motor consists of two magnetically independent stator and rotor sets (layer). Each stator set includes same eight salient pole with windings wrapped around them, and each rotor set includes four salient poles which two poles of rotor have arc same as stator poles(30deg) and other rotor poles have bigger arc than stator arc. These two arc poles have 45deg length. The torque ripple reduction is done as well by shifting the rotor in one of sets. At a time just one layer is active that has much magnetically force. It can produce starting torque in all of the position of the rotor by detection of rotor position. Each layer work complementary that cause reduce in ripple and acoustic noise. Numerical analysis and simulation results verify these statements well.
