Abstract :
Summary form only given. The Terahertz region of the electromagnetic spectrum between microwaves and infrared has recently become more accessible with the advent of compact, turn-key spectroscopy and imaging systems based on advances in optically pumped semiconductor systems for generation and detection. A wide range of inspection applications, from medical imaging through explosives detection, are possible. Our talk will review key applications where Terahertz provides strong value add relative to other spectroscopic and imaging technologies, and will detail key technical requirements for further dissemination of Terahertz products and growth of these areas.
