Abstract
There is a brief introduction to some theoretical basics of magnetic bearings: losses, dynamic performance and types of magnetic bearings. Several new applications of magnetic are described: like high speed (140000 rpm) torque measuring system, ventilator test machine, cooling water pump in a power station and bearings with extreme loads in the range between 16000 and 50000 Newton´s and finally a flywheel for the application in high vacuum for 45000 rpm with permanent magnetic bearings.
