Abstract :
For the environmental protection, restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions are required by the worldwide attention. The use of vacuum circuit breaker to reduce the greenhouse gas SF6 is a good way. Nowadays the vacuum circuit breaker is usually used in the voltage of 35kV and below. On the higher voltage such as the 126kV and above, many scientist and engineers all over the world are making efforts on the research and application of vacuum circuit breakers. In this paper, the breaking capacity of single-break vacuum circuit breaker influenced by the main factors such as the contact structure, contact material and mechanical characteristics are analyzed and compared by the means of the computer simulation, theoretical and experimental research. The single-break 126kV vacuum circuit breaker with the rated voltage of 126kV, rated short-circuit current of 40kA, the DC component of 42% has been developed, which the type test of vacuum circuit breaker has been completed. The results showed that: vacuum circuit breaker in the high voltage has a good breaking ability.
