Summary form only given.We report a quasi-phase-matched DFG of a tunable mid-IR coherent radiation in a bulk periodically poled LiNbO/sub 3/ (PPLN), utilizing a spectrally narrowed Cr/sup 3+/:LiSrAlF/sub 6/ (Cr/sup 3+/:LiSAF) laser with a new cavity configuration.
