  • Abstract
    The authors present a design method for metal insert filters in circular or coaxial waveguides. They give a field theoretical analysis of metal septum loaded coaxial and circular waveguide sections. Based on the S-parameters derived from this analysis, bandpass filters were designed for the 30-GHz range. The design algorithm was relatively fast and did not introduce a noticeable deviation of the practical filter response from the theoretically predicted one.<>
