Summary form only given.Stable room-temperature operation of a flashlamp pumped Cr,Tm,Er:YAG laser operating only at the 2.694 /spl mu/m transition is reported. The optimisation of the Cr, Tm, and Er dopant concentrations, the spectral characteristics of the resonator optics, and the AR coating on the laser rod has resulted in a laser emitting radiation at 2.69 /spl mu/m only irrespective of pump intensity.
