Abstract :
The finite-difference transmission line matrix (FD-TLM) method is applied to loss analysis for microstrip and coplanar waveguides (CPWs). A feature of FD-TLM with a variable mesh size is adopted in this loss analysis. The analysis is validated through a comparison with a frequency domain method. The numerical results provide a clear picture of frequency dependence of losses up to 100 GHz for microstrip and coplanar waveguides.<>
