These sessions are devoted to the presentation of new and on-going research in real-time systems, covering both theoretical and practical aspects. As such, these sessions provide an opportunity for researchers to discuss their evolving ideas and gather feedback from the real-time community at large. This year there were 41 submissions from which 31 papers were selected for presentation. These papers cover many aspects of real-time systems, including formal methods, scheduling, embedded systems, automation, middleware, distributed systems and networks, software engineering, and modelling. These papers were organized into two presentation sessions. We would like to thank the RTSS organizers and Program Committee chairs for their support and collaboration. A special and warm thank-you goes to the Program Committee of the WiP sessions. They worked very hard to review the papers in a very short period of time. Many other external reviewers also contributed to the review process. Their help was very important.
