Abstract
The dielectric wedge antenna has been modified for radiation in free space. While the original antenna has been developed and built for radiation into the ground at low frequencies, the modified antenna has been designed for modified for radiation of ultra-short pulses with spectrum up to 11 GHz. A modification of the antenna has been verified experimentally. It has been shown that the lower cut-off frequency of the antenna is of about 2 GHz.
