Abstract
A new method to measure leakage current of AC and DC corona loss using metalized membrane is presented in this paper. Transmission line is coated by metalized membrane whose is insulated layer next to transmission line and mental layer outwards. The sampling resistance between transmission line and membrane can convert leakage current to voltage signal which will be sent to computer. The voltage of transmission line will also be sent to computer after converting by PT or voltage divider. Corona current and loss can be calculated by program. This method can be applied to on-load or un-load line of AC and DC. It proves that this method is feasible after analyzing correlation coefficient, time delay and corona loss per meter.
