Abstract :
In this paper, the performance of an ML rate detection algorithm for multi-rate time-hopping UWB impulse radio is evaluated, considering two multi-rate techniques. Perfect channel knowledge and absence of interference is assumed, so the proposed algorithm can serve as a benchmark for practical rate detection algorithms. The impact of the time-hopping sequence on the overall performance is discussed. Simulation results show satisfactory performance, even for short observation lengths.
