Abstract :
The control for a switched reluctance generator (SRG) with three-level power converter to increase output power is presented in this paper. First, the operation conditions and key factors to enhance output power of SRG are proposed. Then a three-level power converter with intermediate freewheeling boosts the magnetizing current and the average current in generation freewheeling region. Accordingly, its switching strategy is introduced. Three states of it are described in detail. Further, the voltage feedback control is used to ensure a good DC-bus voltage output quality. The SRG voltage feedback system model based on three-level power converter where the SRG operates self-excitation and current chopper control is established. Simulations results are presented, and verify the feasibility and efficient of the method. It is suitable for small switched reluctance wind power generation system.
