  • Abstract
A generic, simple, and fast method using transmission line (T.L.) circuit model that can be used to design and characterize the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) power splitters, is presented. The T.L. model is based on replacing all the components forming the actual SIW-power splitter structure by their multi-port networks. Two examples, 6 dB and 9 dB SIW-power splitter, are introduced to validate the proposed model. Their return (insertion) losses are calculated and compared to these of HFSS full-wave solver. A very good agreement is noticed.
